Summary 3 ( Deserts )

One major threat to the world’s deserts is that the global warming is gradually expanding the area of deserts and causing the environmental there even harsher.

Nowadays, due to the rapid development of industries and large usage of nature resources, our physical environment is suffered by the pollution and fuel abuse. Thus, causing the global warming phenomenon acts more dangerous than anytime before.

As we all know, deserts can be recognized by two categories, frozen desert and hot desert.
In frozen deserts, higher temperature which caused by global warming is starting to melt the edges of ice cover, seriously jeopardizing the balance of nature and creating new environmental problems of all parts in the world. After more ice being melted, the sea level will rise, then causing the flood and changes of the Earth’s weather.

On another hand, the hot deserts which have already occupied twenty percent of the Earth’s surface will be badly affected as well. Hot deserts are now becoming drier and hotter because of the serious tendency of global warming. The worse surrounding is even threatening the living creatures there that have adapted to survive in that already harsh climate. Meanwhile, numerous studies have shown that the existing deserts are expanding, thus reducing the amount of land capable of supporting plants, people and animals.

To sum up, if we don’t keep a watchful eye on the dangerous problem of world’s desert and don’t take any action, however, there is going to be one day that we all are killed by ourselves.
